COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Harry L. Maxwell, 83 of Cookeville, will be Friday, October 21 at 1 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Samuel Maxwell Cemetery in Baxter. Mr. Maxwell passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1933 in Baxter to the late William Robert and Phoebe Kansas Neill Maxwell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by eleven siblings. He was a graduate of Baxter Seminary. He was also a graduate of Tennessee Polytechnic Institute ( now Tennessee Tech University) with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church and the Backsliders Class. He was a member of the Cookeville Masonic Lodge. He was very interested in family genealogy and authored a book, "Descendants of Samuel Maxwell of Putnam County and Jackson County, TN." He retired from Fleetguard as a Senior Engineer with twenty years of service. Survivors include wife of 60 years Patsy Ruth Judd Maxwell of Cookeville (Married March 10, 1956 in Putnam County), daughters and sons-in-law Pam and Ken Schmitt-Matzen, Sandi and Jim Cannon all of Cookeville, son and daughter-in-law Doug and Leslie Maxwell of Garner, N.C., brother and sister-in-law Robert Ken and Betty Maxwell of Baxter, grandchildren: Stephanie (Bryan) Morgan of Nashville, Charlotte and (Brian) Hollingsworth of Knoxville, Aaron (Ashley) Schmitt-Matzen of Smyrna, Joshua Schmitt-Matzen of Cookeville, Macey (Josh) Crouch of Mt. Juliet, Taylor (Davis) Warner of Murfreesboro, Winston Cannon of Cookeville, Scott Maxwell and Morgan Maxwell both of Garner, N.C., 6 great-great-grandchildren. Rev. Whitney Mitchell will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 PM and from 11 AM Until service time Friday.
