Harriet Elrod

Graveside services and interment for Harriet Nichols Elrod, 83, of Warren, MI and formerly of the Buffalo Valley Community, will be held Saturday, October 8 at 10 a.m. in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Jim Rogers will officiate. Mrs. Elrod died Monday, October 3, 2011 at Mt. Clemons Regional Hospital in Mt. Clemons, MI. She was born January 2, 1928 in Buffalo Valley, TN to the late Lecil and Kathleen Ford Nichols. Mrs. Elrod was of the Methodist faith. She was a substitute teacher for Warren Consolidated Schools. She enjoyed playing pinochle, bridge, fishing, and was a Tiger fan and her grandchildren were her life. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Gordon Elrod, Sr., son, Jessie Gordon Elrod, Jr., brother, Thomas David Nichols. Mrs. Elrod is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Stephen Reece of Clinton Township, MI; two grandsons, Scott Reece and James Reece, brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Tevania Nichols of Hixson, TN; and a sister-in-law, Mary Nichols of Warren, MI. Mrs. Elrod"�s family will receive friends immediately following services at the cemetery.
