Harold Roberson

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Edward Roberson, age 82 of Cookeville, were held Monday, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Sam Davis officiated. Interment with military honors followed in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery on Phifer Mountain. His family received friends Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Roberson died Thursday March 18, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 23, 1938 in Algood, TN to the late Henry G. and Woodly E. Farley Roberson. Mr. Roberson served in the National Guard before serving in the Navy. He retired from the Navy after 21 years of service, which included the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from Ikon after 30 years of employment. He attended Caney Fork Baptist Church. His hobbies included gardening, wood working, and tinkering with computers. Those close to him describe him as a loud, friendly, opinionated jokester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Paula Renea Malott Roberson; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Roberson; and brother, Sherrill Roberson. He is survived by son, James (Terri) Roberson; daughter, Terri (Allen) Boles; grandchildren, Holli and Staci Boles, Rachel and Olivia Roberson; brother, Howard Roberson; and sisters, Wanda Clouse, Lois Weatherholt, Barbara Clouse, all of Cookeville. Allen Boles, Robbie Roberson, Josh McCowan, Frank McCowan, Nick Maynard and Shelby Roberson will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were asked to be made in his honor to Pleasant Ridge Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Freda Boles, 7400 Pleasant Ridge Rd., Sparta, TN 38583.
