Funeral services for Mrs. Hallie Mae (Vaughn Bohannon) Jones, 87, of Cookeville, TN will be held Friday, February 21 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Dry Valley Cemetery. Rev. Drew Shelley will officiate. Mrs. Jones' family will receive friends Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. and again Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Jones died Tuesday afternoon February 18, 2014 at Broadmore Senior Living in Murfreesboro. She was born October 22, 1926 to the late Walter Dow and Vida Jane Duke Vaughn. Mrs. Jones worked for Acme Boot Company for a number of years and later at Parkview Elementary School. She volunteered for the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and for Alive Hospice. She served for over 30 years as a member of the Cordell Hull Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Police and was a member of the Cookeville F.O.P. She also was elected as a Trustee to the State Board of F.O.P. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served in the United Methodist Circle, Mary Martha Circle and was a member of the Backsliders Class for many years. As a reflection of her "dash", she chose a life of service to God and her fellow man. Her daughter states, "I could not be more proud to call this woman my Mother." In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Jim Hunter Bohannon and Ivan Reid Jones; four brothers, Sam Vaughn, Charles D. Vaughn, Walter Ray Vaughn and Sydney Morgan Vaughn; and by two sisters, Virginia Vaughn Moore and Wilma Bean Emerton. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Donna Marie Bohannon McDonald and David William McDonald of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Lola Woolridge of Nashville, TN; three grand children, Joseph Hunter McDonald, Tiffany Rose (Michael) Bain and Hunter James (Lacey) McDonald; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Reece McKee, Anyston Makenzie Bain and Rowan Grace McDonald (due March 8, 2014); two step-children, Vanta (Ronald) Greenwood and Pamela Caskie; eight step grand children, James Heller, Jeremy Griffin, Justin (Shannon) Griffin, Hoggin Elolo, Natasha (Jeff) Schumaker, Michael (Jessica) Caskie, Joshua Greenwood and Jacob Greenwood; and by nine step great-grandchildren, Julian, Kinsley, James, Alyvia, Brenna, Adam, Ivan, Raegan and Arianna. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the CRMC Auxillary.
