Funeral services for Mrs. Gwendolynn "Gwen"� Janette Holloway, 76, of Cookeville, will be held at 3pm Thursday, June 20 at Stevens Street Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Rainer and Dr. Jimmy Arms officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 -8 pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home and again Thursday from 2 pm until service time at the church. Mrs. Holloway died Tuesday afternoon, June 18, 2013 in Cookeville. She was born May 19, 1937 in Knoxville, TN to the late C.V. and Pauline Turner Warwick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bob Holloway; brother, Jack Warwick; niece, Jill Berry; and nephew, Graham Warwick. Mrs. Holloway was an active member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. She volunteered in The Care Center ministry and was a member of the Different, On Purpose Lifegroup. She was retired from food service department of the Putnam County School System. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Brenda Holloway of Cookeville; two daughters, Kim Holloway of Johnson City, TN, and Leigh Ann Allison of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Joyce Warwick of Lancing, TN; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Walter Buckner of Knoxville, TN and Lynda and Jack Beeler of Lancing, TN; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Mongold, Stephanie (Justin) Helton, Melissa (Kenny) Butcher, Stacey (Andy) Barlow, Rachael Holloway and Jacob Allison; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Butcher, Julianne Butcher, Farrah Barlow, Grant Mongold, and Grace Helton. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Mongold, Andy Barlow, Justin Helton, Jacob Helton, Jacob Allison, Joel Warwick, Jack Beeler, Wesley Cowdin, Kenny Butcher, Mike Mousouleas, and Gary Lucius. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Buckner, Kevin Buckner, Benjamin Buckner, Cory Buckner, and members of Different, On Purpose Lifegroup. Memorial contributions may be made to Life House Friends Hospice 570 State St., Cookeville, TN 38501; or The Care Center 269 S. Willow Ave. Suite E, Cookeville, TN 38501; or Avalon Hospice 13 North Oak Avenue Cookeville, TN 38501.
