Greg Tinch, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born on February 11, 1948, in Monterey, Tennessee, Greg's life was one of dedication, service, and love, which touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Greg proudly served his country as a member of the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, a time that shaped his character and sense of duty. After his military service, he dedicated 35 years to Cummins Filtration, where his work ethic and camaraderie left a lasting impression on his colleagues.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Linda Tinch. They created a beautiful life together. His daughter, Denise Knowles, and her husband, Marion, brought him immense pride, and his role as a grandfather to Krista Dwyer, with her husband Kevin, and Brandi Robbins, was one of his most treasured. Greg's sister, Yvonne Jackson, and his special friends, Joe Temples, Kevin Looper and George Zahr, whom he guided as a father figure, will deeply miss his presence and wisdom.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Tinch and Norma Jean Sampley, and his brother-in-law, Roger Jackson.
Known as a jack of all trades, Greg could fix anything with his hands, often accompanied by a stubborn determination that ensured every task was completed to perfection. His garden was a testament to his patience and nurturing spirit, while his love for hunting and fishing reflected his deep connection with nature.
Those who had the pleasure of encountering Greg will remember him as friendly and handy, always ready to lend a hand or share a warm smile. He was a man who built his life on the foundation of hard work and kindness.
