Grant Cooper

Funeral services for Grant Wilson Cooper, 39 of Baxter, will be held Friday, May 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Davis will officiate. His family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Grant died suddenly, Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born May 2, 1978 to Rosie Nell Maynard Cooper of Cookeville and the late Ronald ‘Ronnie' Wayne Cooper. Born and raised in Cookeville, he was a 1997 graduate of Cookeville High School. Kind and hardworking, Grant worked as a supervisor at Academy Sports + Outdoors and was well liked by his coworkers. He was previously employed at Phoenix USA where we worked for over 14 years. Grant adored his children and was a great father and provider. He enjoyed fishing and was especially fond of his Jeep. He attended Life Church in Cookeville. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Woodrow Wilson and Ruby Buck Cooper and maternal grandparents, Ather Avery and Lillie Mae Maynard. In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughter, Caylee Cooper of Crossville; son, Ransom Cooper; brother and sister-in-law Greg and Candie Cooper of Cookeville; niece and nephew, Brett and Anniston Cooper; fiancée, Katie Meade Maynard; step daughters, Rachel Maynard, Michelle Maynard and Kaitlyn Maynard; mother of his daughter, Lora Rose of Crossville; and by a host of extended family.
