Glynn Smith

BAXTER-Funeral services for Glynn Ray Smith, 71 of Baxter, will be Tuesday, February 13 at 11 AM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Jackson County, TN. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate.The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Glynn passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 31, 1952 in Gainesboro, TN to the late Henry H. and Dollie Odell Hammock Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Sylvia Irene and Bill Renn, a brother Gene Smith.

He was a retired realtor in the real estate industry.

Glynn was a "jack of all trades" guy. He enjoyed shopping at Goodwill and Habitant. He mostly loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include wife of 44 years (Married January 1, 1980) Brenda Maxwell Smith of Baxter, daughter Amy (Doug) Leimer of Fayetteville, son Terry Ashburn of Cookeville, sister Pauline Evans of Cookeville, brothers Jerry B. (Lois) Smith of Willow Springs, Missouri, Robert L. (Billie Jo) Smith of Baxter, grandchildren: Abigail Ashburn, Travis Leimer and Selena Leimer, who lovingly referred to him as GFS (Grandfather Sir).

Travis Leimer, Doug Leimer, Chris Maxwell, Devin Maxwell, Cody Maxwell and Bryan Cole will serve as pallbearers.
