Funeral Services for Mr. Glenn Stringer, 69 of Monterey will be held Sunday March 18 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Phipps officiating. Graveside services and interment, with Military Honors provided the U. S. Air Force Honor Guard, will follow in Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville, TN. Mr. Stringer died Wednesday March 14, 2012 in Standing Stone Care and Rehab Center in Monterey. He was born January 27, 1943 in Monterey, Tennessee to the late Nathan and Daisy Deane Castleman Stringer. He was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Stringer, a Vietnam Veteran, was a retired Master Sgt with the U. S. Air Force serving his country for 26 years. He retired again following thirteen years as a maintenance supervisor with JC Penny"�s in Tulsa, OK and Plano, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Deane Phipps and Tennie Henderson, and three brothers, Carl Stringer, Ivan Stringer, and Nathan Stringer, Jr. Survivors include his wife Nonie Partin Stringer (whom he married May 7, 1994 in Grand Prairie, TX); two sons, Glenn Stringer of Jamestown, ND and Chris Stringer of Grapevine, TX; six grandchildren, Ibrahim, Abdullah, and Ahmed Mansour. Heather, Alli, and Anthony Stringer; brother and sister-in-law, David & Sennie Stringer of Spring, TX and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nowesia Harris of Oceana, CA and Nancy & Curtis Conley of Crossville, TN. The U. S. Air Force Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Stringer"�s family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
