Glenda Woolbright

RICKMAN-Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Joyce Woolbright, age 80 of Rickman, will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 3:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Tyler Gaw will officiate. Interment will follow in Netherland Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Woolbright died Sunday September 17, 2023 at Overton County Health & Rehab Center.

She was born November 26, 1942 in Jackson County, TN to the late Dewey "Dude" and Verda Brown Miller. She was a member of the 1960 graduating class of Rickman High School.

She worked as a secretary at the Overton Circuit Court Clerks office where she jokingly referred to repeat offenders as 'my little criminals". In earlier years she worked at Stockton Motors and D&B Hardware.

Glenda was fun, feisty and full of life. She was an avid sports fan and faithfully supported her kids and grandkids at their games. She enjoyed eating out with friends and family and time spent with them on Dale Hollow Lake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gerald Woolbright; and by brothers in law, Clarence Winningham and Steve Sidwell.

Glenda is survived by son, Tony (Tina) Woolbright of Rickman; daughter, Tonia (Billy) Sells of Rickman; sisters, Brenda "Poley" Winningham and Diane Sidwell, both of Rickman, brother, Deloy (Sharon) Miller of Knoxville; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Dakota) Jones, Anthony (Ashley) Woolbright, Marlee Sells, Myla Sells, Matthew Sells, Dakota Woolbright, Kris (Leigh) Bybee, Kayla (Will) Tenpenny, Kelsi Farris, Josh (Abby) Copeland, Matt (Melissa) Copeland; great grandchildren, Ellie, Lilli, Oliver, Luke, Jack, Magnolia, River, Layne, Layla, Brody and Kolter. She is also survived by her mother in law, Ellie Smith Woolbright.

Matthew Sells, Anthony Woolbright, Dakota Woolbright, Dakota Jones, Billy Sells and Tony Woolbright will serve as pallbearers.
