Glen Keith Pyle died peacefully in Nashville, TN on September 24, 2016 at the age of 91. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Vaughn Pyle, his doting daughter, Phyllis Bransfield, his sisters Faye Lynch and Viola Martin, granddaughter Erika Yenokida and her husband Trenton, granddaughter Farrah, and granddaughter Ashley Bocanegra and her husband Xavier along with seven great-grandchildren Brennen, Sydney, Gabriel, Antonio, Penelope, Layton and Nikko and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lucille and Dewey Pyles and his sisters, Wanda Slagle and Deltha Williams. Glen was born on January 16th, 1925 in Pickett County, Tennessee to Lucille and Dewey Pyles. He grew up on a beautiful farm in Cookeville and at the age of 17, Glen volunteered to serve his country and fought bravely in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After returning from the service, he opened a restaurant with his mother in Baxter until he heard the call to "go West young man" and he headed to California. He was successful in many endeavors including farming, sales and entertainment industries, even playing the stock market. He owned several successful businesses including Bakersfield Office Supply in California and Ashley B. Denim Wear in the heart of Music City, USA. At 25, he welcomed his only daughter Phyllis into the world, who would always be "daddy's little girl". Glen showered Phyllis with love and affection; she was his pride and joy and was by his side everywhere he went. In 1976, he married the love of his life, Joyce who remained a caring and loving wife for 40 years, who lead him to the Lord and witnessed his baptism at Two Rivers Baptist Church. Their shared faith gave them a foundation that carried them through both the trials and triumphs of their life together. He was an active and dedicated attendee of Clearview Baptist Church in Franklin, TN. He leaves behind a legacy of the spirit of entrepreneurship, faith in the Lord and the love of family. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:00 at Bloomington Christian Church with Charles Jolly officiating. Interment wilth military honors will be in the Ammonette Cemetery in Pickett County. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Glen's life. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bloomington Christian Church at 1500 Cordell Hill Memorial Drive, Byrdstown TN, 38549. The family would like to thank the doctors at St. Thomas Hospital and staff at Alive Hospice for their care and comfort.
