Ginger Wilder

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia "Ginger" Ann Wilder, age 60 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday January 14th at 5 p.m. at Engrafted Word Church with Pastor Chris McMichael officiating. Graveside services and interment, will be held Monday January 15th at 10 a.m. at Cookeville City Cemetery. Ginger's family will receive friends Sunday from 3 p.m. until service time at the church. She died suddenly Thursday January 11, 2018 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born July 6, 1957 in Memphis, TN to the late Noah and Martha Jennings Johnson. She and her late husband Wendell, who served in the US Navy, lived in various places before settling in Cookeville in 1982. She earned her bachelor's degree in music from Tennessee Tech and has earned various Bible degrees. Ginger's life was centered on music and service to her church. She joined Engrafted Word in 1984 and has served as an active member, church secretary, music director and in countless other capacities. She loved to worship God through her instruments. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Wendell Wayne Wilder; and by mother-in-law, Judy Wilder. She is survived by son, Noah Wilder; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Michael Dingwall, grandchildren, Kiley Wilder and Isaac Dingwall, all of Cookeville; brother, Byron (Edie) Johnson of Destrehan, Louisiana; sister, Betsy (Jerry) Bates of Houston, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Peggy Wilder of Carrollton, GA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Engrafted Word Church, 5 W Broad St., Cookeville, TN 38501 to assist the family with final expenses.
