Mrs. Geraldine "Gerry" Stansbery Holliman Feick died Sunday afternoon July 12, 2015. She was a resident of Heritage Point Assisted Living in Cookeville and was predeceased by her husband of twenty-five years, an Episcopal priest, The Rev. Donald Feick. Gerry was born November 16, 1923, in Bristol, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Charles Skelton and Mayme Osborne Stansbery. She is also predeceased by her sister, Frances Louise Stansbery Sherwood, and her brother, Charles Skelton Stansbery. On her maternal side, Gerry was a direct descendant of North Carolina and Tennessee pioneers who fought in Native American and American Revolutionary Wars. These include the famed frontiersman Daniel Boone; John and Sara Boone Wilcoxson, who both were at Fort Boonesboro, Kentucky; and Christopher Taylor, a founder of Jonesborough, Tennessee. On her paternal side, a direct ancestor, Luke Stansbery was captured by the British during the American Revolution in South Carolina. Her great grandfather, Pryor Lee Stansbery, fought for the Union during the Civil War while two of his brothers, fought for the Confederacy. She is survived by three children: Glenn N.(Barbara) Holliman, Newport, Pennsylvania; Rebecca Holliman (Paul) Payne, Cookeville, Tennessee; Alice Holliman (Bill) Murphy, Trophy Club, Texas. In addition eight grandchildren: Grace Holliman, Bryan Payne, Erin (Sean) Hensley, Chris Holliman, Jonathan (Adrienne) Murphy, Allison (Jason) Mahan, Patrick Murphy and Sean Murphy and fourteen great-grandchildren: Will, Holly, Drew, Camille, Juliana, Macy, Heidi, Josalyn, Zachary, Abel, Katherine Grace, Raimey, Derek, and John. Her first husband, H. Bishop Holliman, whom she met during World War II, also survives. Gerry was an avid bridge player; she worked with senior citizens in Cookeville, and was active in the Methodist church as a Sunday School teacher and life member of the Women's Christian Fellowship. During her marriage to Rev. Feick, she served with him in Episcopal churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Rugby, Tennessee. She generously gave attention and love to her large family and many friends. Funeral services will be at the Cookeville First United Methodist Church of Wednesday, July 15, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Martin Thielen and Rev. Whitney Mitchell officiating. Visitation with the family will be an hour before the services. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Food Pantry 165 E. Broad Street, Cookeville, TN 38501.
