Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia Rene Butler, 90 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday July 9 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Butler"�s family will receive friends Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Butler died Saturday evening July 6, 2013 in NHC of Cookeville. She was born January 1, 1923 in Dekalb County, Tennessee to the late John Irvin and Vera Crook Driver. She was a member of Caney Fork Baptist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lee Butler Sr.; son, Melvin Lee Butler JR; three sisters, Frances Sturgill, Nina Cothron, and Virginia Cook; and two brothers, J. D. Driver and William Thomas Driver. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie & Jerry Cass, and Monease and Donnell Chaffin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wallace and Clydean Butler and Johnny and Sherry Butler; daughter-in-law, Judy Butler all of Cookeville; 10-grandchildren, Michael Butler, Kyle (Misty) Butler, Teraceia Butler, Mark Butler, Jeff Cass, Nikki (John) Dakouvanos, Sara (Matt) Allen, Kelli (Justin) Germain, Matt Butler, and Jessica (James) Hines; and 11-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Butler's gandsons and grandsons-in-law.. Mrs. Butler"�s family extends their sincere appreciation to NHC Management, Staff, and Caregivers for the excellent care given to their mother.
