George E. "Eddy" Jones

Graveside services and interment with military honors for George E. "EDDY"� Jones, 70 of Cookeville formerly of Oak Ridge will be Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 11:30 A.M. (E.S.T.) at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, Tn. Mr. Jones died Thursday morning, February 14, 2013 at Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston, Tn. He was born August 23, 1942 in Knoxville to the late George Clark Jones Sr. and Rosella Roberts Jones. He attended Oak Ridge High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1960. He then attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville and graduated in 1966 with a B.S. Degree in Health and Physical Education. He joined the Army and graduated with a Masters Degree in Education at Stetson University in DeLand, Fl. He was a Vietnam War veteran and retired from the Army as a Major. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Chrissy (Darren) Maynard of Cookeville, son and daughter-in-law Mike (Sarah) Jones of Nashville, ex-wife and special friend, Carolyn Jones of Cookeville; sister and brother-in-law Susie (Wayne ) Flynn of Knoxville, two Grandchildren: Alex Maynard and Amanda Jones, two Nieces Wendie (Craig) Aurin of Oak Ridge, Kellie McClain of Knoxville There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
