GENE LEE COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Maxie Eugene "Gene" Lee, 72 of Algood, will be Wednesday, February 16 at 1 PM from the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brotherton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 AM until service time. Bro. Clayton Lee, Jr. and Bro. Danny Lane will officiate. Mr. Lee died Monday, February 14, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1950 in Smith County to the late Floyd Fountain Lee and Nancy Johnson Lee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Jeannie Ruth Lee, sister Frances Edna Gentry, brothers, Fred Earl Lee and Charles Edward Lee. He was a member of Brotherton Free Will Baptist Church. Gene enjoyed fishing, cruising, and doing mechanic and tree work. Survivors include wife of 49 years (Married December 20, 1972) Georgia Foster Lee of Cookeville; daughters, Lisa Barve (Timothy Proctor) of Algood, Karen Bohannon (Odell Savage) of Livingston, Melissa Lee (Bobby Perry), Marie and Jason Frizzell all of Cookeville, Jennifer Lee (Derek Woods) of Algood; sister, Robbie Sue Smith of Algood; grandchildren: Britney Dellapace, Tyler Proctor, Chloe Proctor, Brandon Bohannon, Bradley Lee, Bobby Perry Jr., Benjamin Perry, Jaliyah Officer and Jericko Lee; and 9 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
