Gaynell Foust Sanders, a cherished mother and grandmother, whose legacy is embellished with love and familial devotion. Born on May 13, 1946, in Killen, Alabama, Gaynell's journey of 77 fruitful years came to a peaceful end on May 10, 2024, in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Gaynell's early years in Killen were grounded in a strong community and education at local schools, which set the foundation for a life marked by unwavering care and kindness. Though she ultimately embraced the role of a homemaker, it was her nurturing spirit that truly defined her life's work. Gaynell's passion for life was further reflected in her joyous relationship with her beloved dog, PeeWee, and her unyielding love for her children and grandchildren.
Gaynell leaves behind a loving family: her son, Jeff Sanders; her daughter, Julie Williams; her daughter-in-law Reba Sanders of Cookeville her brother, H.L. Foust of Arkansas; her cherished grandchildren, Jill Farrell, Nathan and Chad Williams, Corey, Casey, Alan, Austin, Brandon, Cody, and Cannon Sanders, Priscilla Johnston; and her adored great-grandchildren, Kaden and Trentin Farrell, Kennedy and Chesney Williams, and Harvey Williams.
The tapestry of her family also includes her dutiful furry companion, PeeWee. Gaynell was welcomed into eternal rest by her dear loved ones: her parents, Hubert Lee and Annie Davis Foust; her husband, Arnold Sanders; her sons, Kenneth (Stephanie) and Michael Sanders; her son-in-law, Keith Williams; her brothers, Norman and James Foust; and her sister, Frances Stutts.
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Sanders at 11am, Monday, May 13 from the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Internment will follow at Stewart Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday morning from 10am until the time of services.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
