Gary Clemons

Funeral services for Gary Mack Clemons, 57, of Cookeville and formerly of Baxter, will be Saturday at 11 AM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Stewart Cemetery on Old Baxter Road. Mr. Clemons passed away Wednesday night, January 18, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1959 in Cumberland County, TN. He was a 1977 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. Gary was a Postal Clerk with the U.S. Postal Service, serving at the Chestnut Mound Post Office. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack McKay Clemons and Shirley Jean Roberts Clemons Wilson and a brother Darryl Clemons. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Jayce and Meghan Clemons of Cookeville, step-sons Chris and Rachel Gentry and Greg Gentry, sister and brother-in-law Vicky and Devin Barr of Cookeville, sister-in-law Mary Clemons of Cookeville, step-father Bill Wilson, grandchildren: Lochlan Clemons and Braelyn Hamilton, step-grandchildren: Fritz Gentry, Cece Gentry, Finn Gentry and Lane Gentry, niece and husband Allyson and Jeff Boyle, nephews: Jesse Barr, Conner Clemons and Dylan Whitehead, special brother Wayne Upchurch. Bro. Josh Sherman and Bro. John Davis will officiate. Family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
