BAXTER-Funeral services for Fredia Ann Herd, 84 of Silver Point, will be Sunday, October 8 at 2 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Palmer Cemetery. The family will recieve friends Saturday from 5 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Sunday at the funeral home. Bro. Tim McHenry will officiate.

Mrs. Herd died Wednesday night, October 4, 2023 at NHC of Cookeville.

She was born May 21, 1939 in Putnam County to the late Norman and Ora Herron Palmer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J. D. Herd on February 16, 2005 and a brother Donald Palmer.

She attended Baxter Seminary.

Fredia was a member of Baxter Church of Christ. She loved cooking and baking and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Myrna and Gary Anderson, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Sherry Herd all of Silver Point, grandchildren: Dylon (Brittany) Anderson, Landon Anderson, Nathan Herd and Delton Herd, great-grandchildren: Adley, Enoch and Tegan Anderson, sisters Carolyn (Claude) McHenry, Cathy (Danny) Armistead all of Baxter, Hope (David) Little of Cookeville, brother Michael (Sheila) Palmer of Baxter, host of nieces and nephews.

Active Pallbearers will be Nathan and Delton Herd, Landon and Dylon Anderson, Adam Jolley, Lynn McHenry and Danny Armistead.
