Funeral services for Freddy Leaubry Jones, age 71, of Cookeville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lafever Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2009, and will receive friends from on Tuesday November 24 from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Mr. Jones passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1938, in Middlesboro Kentucky to Bessie Mott Jones Flatt and the late Burnis Jones. Freddy spent many years self employed in Auto Sales. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were one of the greatest joys of his life. His family includes his wife, Ruby J. Lafever Jones of the home, two children; Larry McCaleb and wife Joy, and Judy Greenwood and husband Sam, all of Cookeville. He is also survived by a brother; Ted Jones and wife Rosemary of Cookeville, and a sister; Greta Sue Flatt, and husband Ken also of Cookeville. Freddy is survived by seven grandchildren: Kellie Trent and husband Jason of North Carolina, Christopher McCaleb and wife Melissa of Florida, Ashley Swann and husband Robert of Cookeville, Sam Gregory Greenwood and wife Gina of Baxter, Angie Stamps and husband David of Cookeville, Jessie Holloway of Cookeville, and Jimmy Holloway and fiance Laura Beth Calcote of Alabama. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Noah, Caleb and Zachary Trent; Amber, Samantha and Sam Jared Greenwood; Jacob and Austin Stamps. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren; Sam Gregory Greenwood, David Stamps, Christopher McCaleb, Jason Trent, Robert Swann, and Jimmy Holloway. Honorary Pallbearers will be Freddy’s nieces and nephews; Melesia Flatt, Renesia Steel, Sidney Jones, Marcia Parris, Dwayne Whitson, Sherri Yealey, Casey Flatt and Lee Flatt. He is preceded in death by his father, Burnis Jones. Brother Gary Farris will officiate the services.
