Funeral services for Mr. Freddie Ray Dobbs Sr., age 77 of Baxter, TN will be Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until time of the service. Burial will follow in the Dobbs Cemetery. Freddie passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 10, 1937 in Cookeville, TN to the late Claude Wesley Dobbs and Lula Jane Vickers Dobbs. Mr. Dobbs was a caring, compassionate, family oriented man who loved spending time with his family working puzzles and playing cards. He enjoyed farming, gardening of both vegetables and plants as well as watching Law-In -Order, NCIS, old Westerns & War Movies. Fred also had a love for animals and enjoyed raising rabbits and chickens. Mr. Dobbs owned and operated A-1 Lawn Mowing Service in Cookeville for many years and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War. Fred proudly served our country and was a retired Tech Sgt. of the US Air Force. Freddie leaves behind his beautiful & loving wife of twenty eight years, Alice Jeanie Whitmer Dobbs , seven children; Freddie Ray (wife Debbie) Dobbs Jr of Vienna, VA, Timothy Ray Dobbs also of Vienna, VA, Rebecca James of Cookeville, Robinlie Dobbs of Vienna, VA, Roger Smith of Cookeville TN, , Roxanne Smith of Dover PA, and Regina Smith of Hagerstown MD. Mr. Dobbs is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; Brenton, Matthew, Laura, Wesley, Brad, Seth, Laura, Stacy, Tracy, Gary, Brandon, Zack, Rabina, and Marissa and his great-grandchildren of Cookeville, Abby and Alayna as well as one sister; Joan Kitiuk & one brother; Jackie Dobbs both of MI. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Lee Smith, an older brother John Wesley Dobbs and a nephew, Jack Dobbs. Pallbearers will be Jack Dobbs, Freddie Dobbs Jr., Wesley Dobbs, Roger Smith, Mathew James, Jack Zolldan, Brenton Long, and Joe Kitiuk. Bro. Frank Davis and Bro. Corey Price will officiate the services.
