BAXTER-Funeral services for Frederick "FRED" John Shellenbarger, Jr., 55 of Baxter, will be Saturday, October 13 at 1 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community of Putnam County. Fred died Monday, October 8, 2018 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 9, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frederick John Shellenbarger, Sr. and Nancy Lowry Shellenbarger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Annette Stephenson and a brother-in-law Donald Cowan. He was a 1981 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. He was pipeline welder and enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He attended Duncan's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters Shayna and Selena Shellenbarger both of Cookeville, sister Cindy Cowan of Baxter, nieces and nephews Michael, Derek and AJ Cowan all of Baxter, 7 special great nieces and nephews, special friend Wanda Gail Gentry of Smithville. Pastor Ted Kocher will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Derek, Michael, AJ and Earl Cowan; Raymond Thompson; Wanda Gail Gentry; Rodney Canant; Justin Wilkins; and Bobby Smith.
