COOKEVILLE CHAPEL- Frederick Calvin Parsons, born on April 18, 1958, in Knoxville, Tennessee, embraced life with an unwavering spirit of optimism and joy. A devoted son to Albert Leak Parsons and Barbara "Jean" Gregg Scott, Fred's laughter and love were often felt deeply by those around him. He graduated from Bearden High School in Knoxville and furthered his education at Tennessee Tech University, where he was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon as well as the Golden Eagle Men's Golf Team, graduating in 1981.
Fred dedicated his career to sales across various industries, where his infectious personality shone brightly. He had a great sense of humor, and his ability to bring laughter into any room left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Fred was an avid golfer, fanatical about the sport, and enjoyed the camaraderie it brought. He regularly frequented Cookeville's beloved restaurant and watering hole, Spankies, creating memories and forging close friendships that he treasured throughout his life. His many close friendships stand as one of his proudest accomplishments, reflecting the deep connections he fostered wherever he went.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Parsons and his daughter, Macie and her husband, Dakota Brown. Fred's spirit remains enriched by the fond memories shared amongst friends and family, and his legacy will continue on through their stories and laughter.
Fred passed away on February 28, 2025, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. A casual memorial service to celebrate his wonderful life will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, starting at 1:00 PM, with Steve Jones presiding. As a fitting tribute to Fred, golf attire is suggested.
