Funeral services for Frances ‘Fran' Faye Dixon, age 71 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, February 28th at 1 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Welch Memorial Cemetery in Monterey. Pastor Tim Miles will officiate. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again Sunday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. She died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County in Algood. She was born August 21, 1944 in Monterey to the late Walter Willie and Pearlie Lee Copeland Dixon. Friendly and very social, Fran was loved by everyone who knew her. She had a big heart and loved crafts, George Strait and the Tennessee Titans. She loved the Lord, and faithfully served Him as a long-time member of Wilhite Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Hoss Dixon and Odell Dixon; and by sisters, Dora Ruth McCloud and Wilma Jean Chilton. She is survived by daughter, Tracey Brown and fiancée Galen Davis of Cookeville; son, Gregory Brown and wife Becky of Hilham; grandchildren, Tammy Brown, Lori Robbins and Dylan Davis; sisters, Betty Farley of Cookeville and Bessie Addison of Winter Haven, Florida, special nephews Ray Chilton and Charlie Helmick; and several nieces and nephews. Frances' family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the nurses, aides, staff and Dr. Darryl Richards- all at Signature Health Care, for the warm and loving care extended to her. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or to a brain cancer fund of your choice.
