Frances Cowan

Funeral services for Ms. Frances Naomi Cowan, 80, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Kenneth Cowan officiating. Interment will follow in the Cowan Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4 – 8 p.m. Ms. Cowan died Thursday morning June 11, 2015 in Algood, TN at Signature Health Care Center. She was born September 21, 1934 in Putnam County, TN to the late Wade Douglas and Sybil Hogan Knight Cowan, and saved as a young girl. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon Cowan and Donald Cowan; and sister-in-law, Ann Cowan. Ms. Cowan was known for her sweet smile and encouraging her family and friends to "always love everybody." In return, her family loved her and her cousins considered her a favorite. She expressed her love to others with her talent of craft and quilts: Many have received the handiwork of Ms. Frances as gifts. Last but not least, she enjoyed gathering with others to show her love for Jesus. Ms. Cowan is survived by four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert O. Cowan of Lakeland, FL, Arthur Cowan of Brush Creek, TN, Kenneth and Clara Cowan of Hixon, TN, Earl and Mary Jo Cowan of Cookeville; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Wanda and Rondell Harp of Lafayette, TN, Linda Cowan of Cookeville, Doris and Jerry Williams of Arab, AL, Deborah and Dan Simmons of Huntsville, AL; sister-in-law, Cindy Cowan; eight nephews, and five nieces. Pallbearers will be Quinton and Dustin Williams, Derek, Michael, David Cowan, and Nelson White.
