Florene Davis

Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Amanda "Florene" Davis, age 93 of Cookeville, will be held at Monday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m. at West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. Stanley Gantt will officiate. Mrs. Davis died Thursday September 2, 2021 at Trevecca Center For Rehabilitation and Healing in Nashville, TN. She was born February 15, 1928 in Baxter to the late George and Ova Thomas Massa. Mrs. Davis graduated from Baxter Seminary in 1946. She was employed at Acme Boot Company for over 40 years. In 1949, she married Ralph Davis; they were married for 20 years before his passing on February 1, 1968. She was a member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her brothers, Dudley Massa and Verdie Massa; sisters, Thelma Massa and Emma Sue McCaleb; and nephews, Tom Boyette and Jeff Massa. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jo Boyette of Mt. Juliet, Marcia (Ken) Collins of Valdosta, GA, Pat (Keith) Spivey of Decatur, AL, Allan McCaleb of Madison, AL, Rick Massa and Diane (Herman) Brady; great nieces and nephews; and by great-great nieces and nephews The family will receive friends Monday from 9:00 until 10:30 am at the funeral home.
