Felma Swafford

Funeral services for Felma Ledith Swafford, age 92 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday July 23 at Horner Funeral Home in Monterey. Vestel Whittaker will officiate. Interment will follow at Stamps Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. Felma passed away Thursday July 21, 2022 at her home. She was born January 4, 1930 in Overton County, TN to the late Millard Harrison Phillips and Lety Myrtle Phillips. She was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church and attended Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Felma loved music, laughter, gardening, and raising chickens. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Swafford of Cookeville, Deb (Tim) Jeffers of Ooltewah, TN; son, Dan (Debbie) Swafford of Cookeville; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Bly of Livingston ; sister, Ruth Wilson of Monterey; brother, Roy Phillips of Monterey; eleven grandchildren, Jill Swafford, Jeff (Eric) Swafford, Tony French, Shannon (Greg) Weavil, Cory (Kayla) French, Daniel (Jo Ann) Jeffers, David (Kristen) Jeffers, Joseph (Kimberlie) Jeffers, Sarah (Ryan) Edwards, Leah (Jon) Overholt, Rachel (Josh) Ballard; and twenty-one great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Swafford; son, Arlis Swafford; sisters, Media Harris, Audy Mae Wilson, and Zelma Presley; and brothers, Ralph, Roland, and Doil Phillips.
