Funeral Services for Fannie Elizabeth Finley, age 84, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening, March 3, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service. Mrs. Finley was born in Putnam County TN to the late Willis Hampton Dixon and Annie M. Griffin Dixon. She retired from Acme Boot Company after 31 years. Fannie attended the Brotherton Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Finley is survived by her son, David Dixon (wife Debbie) of Cookeville; one grandson, Philip Dixon (wife Linda) of Cookeville, one sister, Thelma Farley also of Cookeville and one brother, C.J. Dixon (wife Pat) of Romulus Michigan. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Loyd Finley (wife Eula) and Lonnie Finley (wife Mary) both of Sparta; and sisters-in-law Kathy Stamper of Sparta, Carol Nash (husband Donald) of Sparta, and Maxine Selby of Fairborne Ohio as well as a host of nieces, nephew, and friends. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Fannie’s caregivers; Ann Hensley, Karen Price, Jan Crabtree and Wanda Klienfield. In addition to her parents Mrs. Finley was preceded in death by her husband Haskel Finley; one sister Marie Davis; and four brothers, Viwey Dixon, Tommy Dixon, Fowler Dixon and Coy Dixon. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Bro. Frank Davis will be conducting the services.
