Ezra D. Allen

Funeral Services for Mr. Ezra Damon Allen, age 74, of Cookeville, will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, January 23, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Mr. Allen entered into rest Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Signature Health Care Center. Ezra was born May 1, 1940 in Algood to the late Steve Allen and Mable Knight Allen. He was retired from the City Of Cookeville. Ezra was a compassionate, kind spirited gentleman; he was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Ezra was loved by all that knew him. He loved spending time with his family, he also enjoyed attending sporting events with his grandchildren. He loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting. Ezra is survived by his son, Tim (wife Pam) Allen of Cookeville; two sisters, Frances (husband Bob) Shepard of Cookeville and Sue (husband Ronnie) Dunn of Baxter; he is also survived by his grandchildren, Brittany, Stephanie, Kayla, Austin, Caleb and Jordan Allen. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife Sharon Allen, a son Jeremy Allen, two sisters, Mary Scott, Bonnie Allen, as well as four brothers, Earl, George, Homer and Fred Allen. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Kevin Thomas and Frank Rodgers will be conducting the services.
