Evelyn Mozelle Brown

On Friday, September 30, Evelyn M. Brown passed away peacefully in her home after a long illness, during which she was attended by her children, her nephew, George G. Humphreys and aides, Sharon Shands and Dean Phillips. Evelyn was born on February 22, 1926 in Hickman County, KY to William W. and Edna Henderson Humphreys. She is survived by her children, Anita Sakowicz (Louis Shelton), William (Cindy) Brown and Judy (John) Sacca, all of Cookeville, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William H. Brown, daughter Janice Martin and her husband Albert Kisshauer. Evelyn, a retired teacher from Michigan, moved to Tennessee in 2003, where she joined her children as part of a plan to all live in close proximity to one another. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Cookeville, on Fairground Road. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6 at First Christian Church. Dr. Bruce Green will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
