Evelyn Irene Jones

Funeral Services for Mrs. Evelyn Irene Sherrell Jones, age 83, of Cookeville, will be Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Perkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, September 13, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Mrs. Jones passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at her home and lovingly surrounded by her family. She was born August 8, 1930 in White County TN to the late Arzo Vestal Sherrell and Nora Mae Howell Sherrell. Evelyn was a loving wife and mother who helped her husband in the fields, loved growing vegetables in her garden and just seeing if she could get flowers and fruits and vegetables to grow. She loved being outside and loved nature. Mrs. Jones worked as a factory worker for many years and also sold Avon. She also loved to crochet. Evelyn is survived by her children: Shirley (Jimmy) Winfree, Sharon (Danny) Clouse, Ronnie (Louella) Jones, Rhonda (Millard) Hayes, and Marsha Medley, all of Cookeville. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; Katrina (Kevin) Clemons, Shannon (James) Mullin, Dustin and Danny Clouse, Kim Jones Palk, Kyle and Brandon Hayes, Steven (Kelly) Jones, Amber (Jacob) Clark, Ryan, Cassandra and Matthew Medley: Great grandchildren Bent and Blake Clemons, Megan Elandt, Spencer and Brooke Mullin, Taylor Clouse, Caitlin Clouse, Hunter Morgan, Emilee Palk, Keaton Montgomery, Carmen Hayes, Abby and Eli Hayes, Hailey and Alexander Jones, Christopher and Amerissa Clark, Seth Medley, and Keira “Gracie” Murphy. She is also survived by one great great grandson, Bryan Elandt and one brother; Arvin V. Sherrell. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Edward Jones, one son Mark Stephen Jones, and a special friend, Ed Mott. Pallbearers will be Kyle Hayes, Ryan Medley, Brent Clemons, Dustin Clouse, Danny Clouse, Steven Jones, Jacob Clark and Ike Jones. Bro. Frank Davis will be conducting the services.
