Funeral Services for Mrs. Evelyn C. Mitchell Bartlett, 95 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, November 21 at 1 p.m. from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper- Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Pastor Scott McKinney will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Bartlett died Wednesday evening, November 18, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 18, 1920 in Cookeville to the late Emmitt Brown and Notie Williams Mitchell. She graduated from Cookeville Central High School and was a retired Employment Security Manager with the Tennessee Department of Employment Security with over 40 years of service. Mrs. Bartlett was active in the community as a Charter Member of Cookeville Rotary Inner-Wheel, a long-time member of Cookeville Business and Professional Women's Club and a member of the Rose Society. She was a life-long member of Cookeville First Baptist Church. She was blessed with a full, active life, enjoying yard work, growing roses and helping oversee the daily operation of her farm until just two weeks ago. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Clarence Bartlett, Sr. (who died December 28, 2006); sister, Elise Hicks, brother, Clifford Mitchell; and niece, Martha Binns. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John C., Jr. and Carol Bartlett; her brother, Sam Mitchell, all of Cookeville; several nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers, Jim and Donna Viar, Robin Peters, and Joe Green. Pallbearers will be Tommy Haile, Mike Phipps, Craig King, Joe Green, Dean Anderson, and David Hull. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Cookeville/Putnam County Animals P.O.
