Funeral services for Eva Lee Whiteaker, 94, of the Dry Valley Community near Cookeville will be held Sunday, July 10 at 3 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Dry Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Larry Whiteaker will officiate. Mrs. Whiteaker died Friday, July 8, 2011 at Bethesda Healthcare Center. She was born September 26, 1916 in Putnam County to the late Levi and Elizabeth Whiteaker Sparks. Mrs. Whiteaker was a member of Dry Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker. Her family includes her husband of 71 years, Herman Whiteaker of Cookeville (whom she married November 4, 1939 in Putnam County), two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Lisa Whiteaker and Lewis and Irene Whiteaker all of Cookeville; two grandsons, Nathan and Daniel Whiteaker of Cookeville; one granddaughter, Terry (Lark) Moore of Sparta; one great granddaughter, Alisha (Ray) Brown of White County, TN; one sister, Ruby Lee of Cookeville. Mrs. Whiteaker"�s family will receive friends Saturday 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, PO Box 10088, Knoxville, TN 37939.
