Estelle Bilyeu

Funeral services for Mrs. Reba ‘Estelle' Bilyeu, 85 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, December 16 at 1 p.m. at the Cookeville of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Algood Cemetery. Bro. Les Ditto and Rev. Doyle Ashburn will officiate. Her family will receive friends Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again Tuesday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Bilyeu died Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born May 16, 1929 in Dodson Branch, TN to the late Billie Allen Sr. and Floy Brown Allen. Mrs. Bilyeu was a 1950 graduate of Central High School. She was employed as an office worker in Nashville and later at the Livingston Shirt Company. Described by those who knew and loved her as angelic, she will be remembered as a lady who was kind to everyone. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone and saw the positive in every situation. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter. She was a member of the Bradley Drive Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Jessie Mae Crangle, Charlene Green, Ora Allen; and by brothers, Fred Vance Allen and Phillip James Allen. Mrs. Bilyeu is survived by her husband of 59 years, George L. Bilyeu (whom she married December 24, 1955 in Baxter); brother, Billie Allen Jr. of Dayton, Ohio; niece, Ms. Terry Qualls of Algood; brother-in-law, Robert (Lois) Bilyeu of Baxter; and by a sister-in-law, Elwin Qualls of Algood. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
