Estel Lowe

Funeral services for Estel Gore Lowe, 85 of Huntsville, Alabama formerly of the Boma Community of Putnam County, will be Saturday, July 19 at 11 A.M. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mr. Lowe died early Thursday, morning, July 17, 2014 at Floyd E. "TUT" Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville. He was born January 18, 1929 in Putnam County to the late Johnnie Tampa and Katherine Grace Gore Lowe. He was a U.S Army Veteran of WW2. He was a 1946 graduate of Baxter Seminary and graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a retired Electrical Engineer with the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville from 1956 to 1984. Afterward he was a contractor with Rockwell International until 1993. He was of the Baptist faith, loved genealogy and family tree information. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sons Danny Lowe and Ricky Lowe, grandson Christopher Lowe, infant brothers Joseph Phillip Lowe and Charles Richard Lowe, sisters Helen Frances Temple, Elenor Marjorie Kaphengst, and Mary Kathrine Lowe. Survivors include wife of 64 years Bert Maddux Lowe (whom he married November 24, 1949 in Cookeville); daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Bruce Rogers all of Madison, AL, grandchildren: Craig Lowe of Tallahassee, FL, Priscilla Lowe Hughes of Huntsville, Jeremy Kent Rogers and Jamie Kristin Rogers both of Madison, Al. Mr. Lowe's family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. and from 9 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Bro. Joel Moss will officiate.
