Ernest Billingsley, age 87 of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. He was the son of the late James Washington and Clevie Flatt Billingsley. For over 50 years, he was a prominent businessman in Oneida, TN and a member of the Kiwanis Club. In 1987, Ernest was proud to be named Farmer of the Year. He was a faithful member of the Oneida Church of Christ and served as an elder until his health failed. Survivors include his wife, Celia Ragland Billingsley; one son, Daniel and wife Patricia; one daughter, Patsy Jones and husband Harold; three grandsons, Adam Jones, Thomas Billingsley and fiancée Courtney Carroll, and David Billingsley; one granddaughter, Emily Jones Richardson and husband Paul; three great-grandchildren, Jacobey King, Gabrielle and Liam Billingsley; four sisters, Velma Flatt, Della Thompson, Bernese Carter, Juanita Gross and husband Denzel, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Friends may visit with the Billingsley family on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Oneida Church of Christ, with Bro. John T. Polk II officiating. Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 1 p.m. central time at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville, TN Pallbearers will be Adam Jones, Thomas Billingsley, David Billingsley, Delmus Goolsby, Jacob Billingsley and Paul Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be W.O. West, Charles Valentine, Joey Puckett, Donald Bell, Gary Leftwich, Kelly Adkins and Don Billingsley.
