Erma Maxwell

BAXTER-Funeral services for Erma V. Maxwell, 86 of Baxter, will be Friday, October 16 at 1 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Maxwell Cemetery South. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Friday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 social distancing will be observed. Mrs. Maxwell died Thursday night, October 8, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born November 15, 1933 in Baxter to the late McKinley and Ova Clouse Herren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Paul Hunt Maxwell on April 19, 2000, son Harold Maxwell, sisters Dorothy Lue Herren, Winnie Lafever and Beatrice Denny, brother Vestle Herren. She was member of the Church of Christ. She was a retired sewing machine operator with Wilson's Sporting Goods of Cookeville with 25 years of service. Erma really enjoyed bluegrass music. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Glynn Smith of Cookeville, son Michael Maxwell of Baxter, sister Elma Allison of Baxter, grandchildren: Amy Leimer, Terry Ashburn, Chris Maxwell, Jeremy Maxwell and Devin Maxwell, great-grandchildren: Austin Maxwell, Abigail Ashburn, Travis Leimer, Selena Leimer, Cody Maxwell, Catelyn Maxwell, Adrianna Maxwell, Kairi Maxwell, Sylvia Mathis and Kobey Mathis and a special friend Lynda Wood.
