Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Emogene Andrews, 82, of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, April 11 at 1 o'clock at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ with Bro. Buddy Johnson and Bro. John Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Wednesday 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Andrews died Sunday evening, April 8, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 17, 1930 in White County, TN to the late Print and Velma May Maynard Elrod. Mrs. Andrews served as the Putnam County Registrar for the Putnam County Election Commission for over 30 years. Mrs. Andrews was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved and taught her family by her example. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dayton Andrews and her daughter, Joan Andrews Mahler. She is survived by her son, Putnam County Sheriff David Andrews and his wife Rosemary of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Jim "Jimbo"� Mahler, Jennifer Smith, Jason Mahler, Emma Brooke Andrews and Jessica Qualls; six great grandchildren, Laura Beth Mahler, James Michael Mahler, Chloe Smith, Emma Smith, Jonas Mahler, and Owen Mahler; sister, Marie Herren of Cookeville; son-in-law, Jimmy Mahler of San Diego, CA a special friend and sister-in-law, Estelle Andrews; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Management, Staff, Deputies and Honor Guard of the Putnam County Sherriff"�s Office. Active Pallbearers will be Mike Andrews, Donald Thrasher, Howard Andrews, David Ray Smith, Jim Babcock, Danny Herren, Mark Herren, Harold Buckner and Tommy Coats. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer"�s Tennessee 1459 Interstate Drive Suite 211 Cookeville, TN 38501.
