Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Sue (Nan) Eldridge, age 78 of Algood, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6, at the Algood Family Event Center with Rev. Richard Bond officiating. Interment will follow at the Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Eldridge died Tuesday morning, February 2, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 1, 1938, in Gamaliel, Kentucky, to the late Atwood Washington and Georgia Dyer McDonald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Eldridge; two sisters, Pansy Pritchard and Bobbi Hale; and brother, Don McDonald. Mrs. Eldridge was a member of Algood Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was formerly employed at McCord-Winn, Genco Stamping, and Oster Corp. She enjoyed and was especially proud of her family. Her life was centered around her children, grandchildren, and close friends. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Karen Eldridge of Cookeville, BJ and Shannon Eldridge of Mt. Juliet, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Michael Newton of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Samantha Hackworth (Hunter), Josh Eldridge, Ashley Eldridge, Samuel Wright, and Thomas Eldridge. The pallbearers will be Josh Eldridge, Hunter Hackworth, Samuel Wright, Thomas Eldridge, Michael Newton, and Seth McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy McDonald, Eddie McDonald, Ray Tucker, Steve Carlock, and John Downie. Memorial contributions may be made to Algood Cumberland Presbyterian Church CPW Program, 152 Elm Street, Algood, TN 38506.
