Emma Jean Jarrett

June 3, 1928 — March 7, 2010

Funeral services for Ms. Emma Jean Jarrett, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 in the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Rev. Earl Dirkson will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11.a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Ms. Jarrett died Sunday March 7, 2010 in Masters Health Care Center. She was born in Smith County TN on June 3, 1928 to the late Livy H. Lancaster and Fannie Cowan Lancaster. Ms. Jarrett was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cookeville. Ms. Emma was a loving homemaker and brought joy to her family and friends, spending her life in the Cookeville area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cordell Jarrett, and a brother, Jerry Lancaster. Her family includes two step-sons Cordell Jarrett and Albert Ray Western of Cookeville, two step-daughters, Carolyn and Faye Jarrett of Knoxville, a nephew, Tony Lamberson of Nashville, cousins, Emily Sue Carrick, Cedrick (Carolyn) Lancaster and Berdine Young of Gordonsville TN, Thelma Jarrett of Lebanon TN, James Betty of Michigan, and relatives, Ruth Manning of Lebanon, Martha Smith, Mert Smith, Terry Smith and Michael Smith of Smith County and Barbara Carver and Ronnie Myers both of Cookeville. She is also survived by Mrs. Jeanetta Hayes Howard and Mrs. Maggie Jackson, devoted friends and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Marcino Roberts, Raymond Lockett, Ronnie Myer, Roger Farley, Johnny Mullin and Floyd Cartwright. Flower Bearers include Barbara Carver, Linda Cartwright, Charlene Wells, Connie Farley and Wanda Sue McMurry.
