Funeral services for Elsie Mae Crawford, age 87 of Cookeville, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday December 5 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Danny Allen will officiate. Entombment will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of services. Elsie passed away Tuesday November 30, 2021 at her home. She was born April 6, 1934 in Overton County, TN to the late Lannie and Lille Ray Moody. Elsie attended Circle Drive Freewill Baptist Church in Algood. She was formerly employed at Acme Boot Company and later retired from Aquatech in Cookeville. Elsie was a fabulous homemaker and used her gift of hospitality for friends and family. She was a great cook and talented seamstress. She exemplified a Proverbs 31 virtuous woman. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Dyer of Cookeville; son, Rick Crawford of Knoxville; sister, Faye Rector of Cookeville; grandchildren, Misty (Brian) Hughes of Cookeville, Darren Dyer of Harriman, Summer Crawford of Blaine, TN, Amanda, Westley, and Erica Crawford all of Knoxville; and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Crawford; and brothers, LC, Bobby, and Jerry Moody.
