Funeral services for Mrs. Elma Evelyn Nash Allison, age 88 of Baxter will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. again on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Nash Cemetery. Mrs. Allison went home to be with her Lord at 3:00 a.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at her home with her family surrounding her. She is survived by her husband of 68 years; Hubert O. Allison, three daughters, Patsy Anderson of Memphis, TN, Peggy Bush of Crossville, TN, and Kathy Massa of Cookeville, TN, one son, Tim and wife Tommye Ann Allison of Dayton, TN, six grandchildren, Jeff, Karen, Matt, Daryl, Cindy and Ginger; five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many Nieces, Nephews and close friends. She was born on June 14, 1925 to Levi Perkins and Bessie Garrison Nash. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Carl, Solon, Willard, Ernest and Herchel; and sisters, Jane Murray, Erma Warren and Ethel Warren. Mrs. Allison worked for the Cookeville Boat Dock Road Water Utility District as manager for over forty years, before she retired a year and a half ago. She loved her job and the people with whom she came in contact. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cookeville, where she co-taught a Sunday School class and was also member of the Choir for several years. Her husband, Hubert, is a deacon emeritus. She will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ruth Gleaners Sunday School Class. Memorial gifts may be made in her memory to First Baptist Church Building Fund. Bro. Charlie Hutchinson, Bro. Bill Stone and Bro. Mike Head will officiate the service.
