Elise Jenkins

Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Elise Jenkins, age 94 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, October 18th at 2 p.m. at Cookeville City Cemetery. Chaplain Dwight Henry will officiate.

Her family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Jenkins died Saturday October 15, 2022 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville.

She was born October 30, 1927 in Jackson County to the late Grady James Smith and Vela Gentry Smith.

She worked as a service analyst at GTE Telephone. She and her late husband Bill were longtime members of Baxter United Methodist Church. She loved her family and cherished time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Edward Jenkins; brothers, Doyle Smith, Clifton Smith and Eugene Smith; and by sisters, Odessa Boles and Betty Roberts.

She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Janice and Tom Morton of Frostproof, FL; a sister, Evelyn Poston; two grandchildren, Mark (Anita) Morton and Laura (Bobby) Rich; eleven great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
