Eileen Mccabe

Mrs. Eileen E. McCabe, age 93 of Cookeville and formerly of Baxter, passed away peacefully Friday April 29, 2022 at her "home" (Charter Senior Living of Cookeville), surrounded by her children, family and caregivers, following a brief illness. She was born March 29, 1929 in Manhattan, NY to the late Thomas Joseph Hoban and Mary McCarthy Hoban. Eileen, along with her husband of 48 years Francis (predeceased 1999), were former long-term residents of Monroe, NY, and the Bronx, NY. Mrs. McCabe was retired from employment with the Orange County, NY, government for 15 years and prior private industry work in financial accounting. Mrs. McCabe was a devoted, loving and caring wife, mother and daughter. She is survived by two daughters, Leslie (Phil Suns) Redondo of Sparta and Deborah (Peter) Layug of Newburgh, NY; son, Francis M. (Margaret) McCabe of McMurray, PA (Pittsburgh); 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Eileen's wishes of cremation and no services are being honored. Interment will be in Smellage Cemetery in Baxter at a later date.
