Edith Loftis

Funeral services for Miss Edith Christine Loftis, age 91 of the Hillham Community of Overton County, will be held Sunday May 18 at 4 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Glenn Masters officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Miss Loftis died Thursday evening May 15 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born October 8, 1922 in Overton County, Tennessee to the late George Martin (G.M.) and Ollie Mae Lankford Loftis. She was a homemaker and attended both Poplar Springs Baptist Church and Hardy's Chapel Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Brenda Netherton. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Elise and John Moles of Cookeville; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Lennie Loftis of Hilham and Paul and Vera Loftis of Cookeville; nieces and nephews, Ron (Jane) Moles, Charlotte (Jim) Stout, Joyce (David) Hammett, Debbie (Randall) Ramsey, Cathy (Bill) Jackson, and Bennie (Vickie) Loftis. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Miss Loftis family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
