Eddie Burchett

Edward “Eddie” Keith Burchett, age 59 of Maynardville, TN, formerly of Cookeville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 3, 2020. He is preceded in death by grandmother, Helen Thompson; grandparents, John W. and Alta Mae Burchett; and nephew, Logan Hamlet. Eddie is survived by wife, best friend and soulmate Lori Phillips Burchett; son and daughter-in law, Dave Edward (Amber) Burchett; grandchild, Scarlett “Wigglebug” Burchett; parents, Johnnie (Barbara) Burchett of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, David (Deborah) Burchett of Sparta; sister, Jane Hamlet of Cookeville; several nieces and nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill (Betty) Phillips; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rick (Lisa) DeMarsico. Eddie was born in Cookeville, TN on July 28, 1960. He spent part of his younger years in California before coming back to Cookeville his junior year of high school. Eddie and Lori married in October 1990. They have been pretty much inseparable for the last 30 years. Eddie retired from Cummins Filtration (Fleetguard, Inc) in October 2017 after 37 years. Eddie & Lori, along with Bill & Betty Phillips, moved to Maynardville, TN in 2018. Eddie went to work at Fountain City Auction picking up estates, etc. to be auctioned. Eddie should have been an “American Picker” cause he loved to find old junk & stuff. A Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Moore and Pastor Austin Coleman will officiate. Friends are invited to come by the funeral home to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. Memorial contribution may be made to the American Diabetes Association and/or to the American Cancer Society.
