Ed Edenfield

d. May 24, 2018

A Memorial Service for Edward Edenfield, III, 66, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 9 at First United Methodist Church in Cookeville Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, June 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hooper, Huddleston, and Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville, TN and from 1:00 pm until the time of services on June 9. He died Thursday, May 24 at his home. Ed was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on November 7, 1951. He graduated from Columbia Military Academy in 1969 and continued his studies at TTU where he earned a B.S. in both Business Administration and Accounting. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved nothing better than to walk streams and fly fish with his wife, Pamela Ferency Edenfield. Eddie loved to read history books from a very young age and had a wealth of knowledge on so many historical happenings that he could captivate an audience for hours. He loved to travel to places he had read about and explored many wonderful sites both in this country and abroad. He worked for many years in manufacturing management at S & S Screw Machine and Genco Stamping and retired to become a "gentleman farmer" nearly 20 years ago. His garden was a marvel to behold every summer. Eddie was very involved with his church, the First United Methodist Church of Cookeville, and taught Disciple Bible Study Class for 16 years. Many people believe life is about what a person accomplishes in life but Ed believed life was about relationships. Ed was a fine man with a great sense of humor and a generous spirit. He lived his life with a sense of gratitude and a continuous awareness of Grace. Memories are all we have left of a large group of people who have gone before us. Ed touched the lives of many people and will be remembered by them. He lived his life with humility and he was thankful for a wonderful life. It can truly be said, like in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" (Ed's favorite movie), "I like Eddie Edenfield." He is survived by his wife Pam, sisters Karen Edenfield Jerald and Jane Anne (Wayne) Edenfield Bass, nephews, Trey (Viva) Kelley and Clay (Michelle) Kelley, nieces, Rachel (Dewayne) Bass Tidwell, Sarah Bass and Nicole Edenfield Greene. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Edenfield, Jr. and Dolores Hickle Edenfield and his brother, Joseph Christopher Edenfield. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be given to either the Music Ministry or the Emergency Fund at First United Methodist Church in Cookeville Tennessee.
