Earl D. Chaffin

Funeral Services for Mr. Earl D. Chaffin, age 85 of Cookeville, will be Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery in Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Mr. Chaffin passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Masters Health Care with his family by his side. Earl was born March 18, 1927 in Jackson County, TN, to the late Comer Chaffin and Clara Haney Chaffin. Mr. Chaffin is survived by his loving wife, Anna Chaffin. He is also survived by his children, Earl Wayne (Treva) Chaffin of Dalton, GA, Cathy Ann (Kenneth) Hoffman of Morristown, TN, and Jeanette (Gregory) Crouch of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Brandon Hoffman and Brad Crouch; great-grandchildren, Drew and Kylee Crouch; two sisters, Mary Flatt and Norma Gentry both of Cookeville, TN; brother, Robert Chaffin of Akron, OH. Earl was a member of Whitson Chapel Church of Christ and enjoyed playing guitar, gardening and loved working on his farm. In addition to his parents, Mr. Chaffin was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Wanda Faye Chaffin; brothers, Roy Chaffin, Jerry Chaffin, Comer Chaffin JR; one sister, Mable Flatt. Bro. Steve Reeder will officiate the services.
