Earl Cooper

Funeral services for Calvin Earl Lee Cooper, 85 of Cookeville will be Saturday, April 18 at 10 A.M. at Trinity Church in Algood. Interment with military honors will be in Algood Cemetery. Mr. Cooper died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at his home. He was born February 15, 1930 in Jackson County to the late Everett and Beulah Irene Roberts Cooper. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister Dorothy Meadows, brothers, U.L. Cooper and Carlin Cooper. He was a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving 1952 to 1954 and being discharged as a Corporal. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a retired roofer and member of Trinity Assembly in Algood. Survivors include wife Jean Nelson Hunter Cooper of Cookeville, daughter Sheree Nickelson of Dallas, TX, sons and daughter-in-law David and Caroline Hunter of Cookeville, Bobby Hunter of the Dodson Branch, sister Georgia Hinton of Dayton, OH, brother and sister-in-law Billy Moore Cooper and Pat Cooper of Maryville, TN, 10 grandchildren: Michael Nickelson, Holly (Jessie) Warden, Adam (Jamie) Hunter, Logan Hunter, Lucas Hunter, Anthony (Jennifer) Hunter, Jordan Roberts, Alaina Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Jeremy Roberts, 4 great-grandchildren. Pastor Jim Moore will officiate. Family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home and at Trinity Church in Algood after 9 A.M.
