BAXTER CHAPEL-Dudley Arlen Hardan, an esteemed outdoorsman and avid collector, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 in Granville, Tennessee. He was born on August 10, 1946, in Red Wing, Minnesota, where he would cultivate a deep affinity for the natural world, which would accompany him throughout his life.
Dudley proudly served his country as a U.S Army veteran during the Vietnam Era, a commitment to duty and service that earned him the respect and admiration of friends and family alike. His military experience shaped many of his values and instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and respect for the great outdoors. Dudley worked in the oil industry.
Beyond his service, Dudley was known for his passion for collecting guns and knives, often taking the time to educate others on the intricacies of his collections. His enthusiasm for these hobbies reflected not only his interests but also his meticulous nature and appreciation for craftsmanship.
Dudley is survived by his beloved wife, Celeste Villegas Hardan of Granville; his daughter, Sara Hardan of Chattanooga; his brother, Duane (Marsha) Hardan of Minnesota; and his cherished granddaughters, Olivia and Isabella. His family meant everything to him, and he took great joy in their accomplishments and shared experiences.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Earl Hardan and Genevieve Eileen Nibbe Gust, whose nurturing support helped shape the man he became.
Dudley had chosen cremation with no services.
Dudley Arlen Hardan will be remembered not only for his adventurous spirit and hobbies but also for his unwavering love for his family and his steadfast dedication to the values he held dear. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the memories he created with those he loved.
